Google Hangouts
Picture and Video sharing with Google Hangouts is super easy and efficient!
I use Hangouts to keep in touch with friends from all over the US and Canada. What I enjoy about Hangouts is how easy it is to use (Google is my favourite thing! You can do so many things within one umbrella service).
The way that I start my Hangout video chat:
1. Log onto my Google Account
2. On the right side you see the Hangout symbol- select the symbol.
3. Start a conversation!- this conversation can be with anyone who is in your contacts/circles.
Hangouts on your computer is just like a text conversation that you would have on your Google phone/device.
This conversation can be:
A text/instant message conversation
Red Circle: A video chat
Green Circle: An opportunity for picture sharing
Blue Circle: Add up to 10 people in the conversation.
What I also love about Hangouts is how similar the services are when you transfer from your computer to your device. I have a Google Nexus 5 cellular device and I can do all of the same things on my device that I just did on my computer in hangouts.
I would recommend Hangouts to anyone, especially people that utilize Google on the regular. It's a great alternative to Skype.

Kattie,
ReplyDeleteI enjoy how you went step by step on how to use Google+ for chats. I feel as if people don't take advantage of it more often when it has many great benefits to use.
Would it be easier to have one the phones you have to use this feature? As an apple user would I able to use this feature on the go.
Let's hear!
Hello Lindsay,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment!
I agree that people do not use it as often as they could. Me included!
I do believe it is easier to utilize this tool with a Google Device because the Hangouts connects right to your device; Hangouts is our version of your iMessage, so it is something that connects right to your phone and you can transfer from Hangouts to traditional SMS messaging. Technology is a beautiful thing isn't it?
Hope this helps/answers your question!
Kattie :)
I love how you put step by step on how to use it. I've never actually used this app but you made it sounds so easy, I'll have to try it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily!
ReplyDeleteIt is worth a try!
